OXMS is managed by its founder Paul Ovington who works in collaboration with a wide number of associates. After completing a degree in Physics at Newcastle University in 1977 he joined Marconi Space and Defence Systems as a digital designer. This experience was soon followed by an MSc in Integrated Circuit (silicon chip) Design at the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology in 1981. Since then he has worked at the very forefront of commercial technology and business within the electronics and microelectronics industry, holding senior engineering and management positions. Paul was a founding leader of Hitachi's European engineering division in 1984. In 1999 Paul programme managed the implementation of the world’s first Bluetooth communication chips on behalf of Ericsson Mobile Phones.

His extensive design and product development experience is complemented by 24 years of management experience. His management career has been distinguished by his achievements in building and leading multi-disciplined teams, corporate strategy development, and project management. He has co-ordinated development groups consisting of 60 multi-disciplined engineers.

Paul speaks several languages, and he has gained international experience working in Denmark and Switzerland. He also has substantial experience of working with American and Japanese companies. He has been involved with the following companies: California Devices Inc., Hitachi, Philips, Sainsbury's, VLSI Technology, the Swiss watch industry, Nortel, Telebit Communications, Psion, Ericsson, European Space Agency, Texas Instruments, Marconi, NemeriX SA, Creative Labs, Picsel Technologies, Smiths Detection, Peterborough City Council and Skills South East and Business Link organisations.

Managing complex, strategic projects often classified as mission critical, and sometimes mission impossible, is his speciality.

His career experience is complemented by an MBA from Henley Management College, one of the UK's top ten business schools. He also possesses a Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing. Paul is an exponent of both PRINCE2 and PMI project management methodologies. Paul has been a long-standing member of the Institute of Business Advisers. He is Vice President (Education) of Oxford Speakers’ Club and has a growing reputation for inspirational speeches.
